Winner of the Business of the Year Award 2008 – Large Employer

West Bend Joint School District #1 educates more than 7,000 students annually in 11 schools. The district consists of two high schools, two middle schools, six elementary schools and the Rolfs Education Center.

In 2008, East and West High Schools were named to the Top 5% of High Schools nationally by Newsweek, Badger Middle School was named an Exemplary Middle School by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators and the West Bend School District was given the Red Quill Award by the ACT Midwest Region.

Winner of the Business of the Year Award 2008 – Medium Employer

Since their founding in 1926 as West Bend Building & Loan, West Bend Savings Bank has been headquartered in West Bend. Today, with over 230 employees, they serve over 32,000 households through 18 area offices covering all of Washington County and into three of the surrounding counties. Their mission is: "To continually expand as an innovative, mutually owned community bank by building long-term, profitable customer relationships in the communities they serve."

Winner of the Business of the Year Award 2008 – Small Employer

J L Business Interiors, Inc. was founded by Jeff & Karen Lambie in April 1994. Having started in their home they have grown into a 30,000 ft new/remodel facility and service facilities all over the country. JLBI has established itself as a leader and resource for their customers to obtain quality interior products at an affordable cost.

As an Office Furniture Recycler, they are keenly aware of their impact on the environment as they save thousands of pounds of furniture from going into the land fill as well as offering GREEN products to their customers from many multiple manufactures.

They are confident that the services they provide to their customers are very much needed in today’s business world.
